Work Activity Program
AbundantLife staff will work with people with intellectual disabilities build more self-reliant, independent and productive lives. We will help you here towards reaching your day habilitation and vocational goals.
The goal of work program services is to enhancing Individuals independence, growth and development, self-esteem and reliant through training designed in an employment work program setting.
AbundantLife work program is designed to assist adults with intellectual disabilities to achieve their potentials in the level of day habilitation and vocational growth. This purpose of service is to develop appropriate work habits, attitudes and skills by performing a variety of job tasks of interest to the person and believes that everyone, regardless of the nature of their disability, should be encouraged to pursue their work related interests. Activities take place both on-site and in the community, and are specifically tailored to the individual’s interests, desires, and abilities.
1. Volunteering: to churches, Salvation Army, Delaware Food Bank, etc.
2. Community-based activities: Our Individuals will explore everyday locations and learn skills in natural settings such as bank, Post Office, learning to use the local library, shopping skills and education on community travel on DART bus and public transportation.
3. Basic computer education and training
Our work programs aim to give you the skills, supports and opportunities you need for on job site independence. Your program will include evaluation/assessment, service planning, work program experience, case management services, and career exploration.
