Service Pledge

The AbundantLife program will provide specialized support to adults from age 19 and above who have intel­lectual and developmental disabilities and other related conditions depending on their diagnosis.

The Abundant Life Community Development Corporation (ALCDC) as an agency will ensure that AbundantLife Day Habilitation and Pre-Vocational Center empowers people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals through our undiluted skilled vocational program. The idea is to fulfill their potentials, while managing, maintaining and maximizing self-independence of our individuals by improving the worth and quality of their lives.

AbundantLife will operate in accordance to the DDDS policies as well as local, state and federal standards and regulations. AbundantLife will support, celebrate and promote individuals’ achievements as per their Individual Support plan goals and desired outcomes. All the people served by AbundantLife will be treated with respect and dignity and any form of abuse, neglect, maltreatment shall be reported immediately. The agency will work closely with the residential agencies where the individuals are coming from to be a part of their comprehensive support plans with identifiable individual goals. These goals will be reviewed on a continuing basis, such that when those goals are achieved, new goals will be set in their place.

AbundantLife will partner with DDDS in tracking all services given by our trained and professional staff using technology tools and software. Additionally, AbundantLife will provide appropriate supports, choices and opportunities to the people we serve and support. Our goal of this service is to maximize an individual’s opportunity for long term community growth and development, empowerment and employment. The overall emphasis of AbundantLife Day Habilitation and Pre-Vocational Center is to instill the coping skills required for successful participation in an integrated, competitive employment experience. The fully-accessible AbundantLife facility is located in Newcastle, Delaware.

Our services to you may be paid for by one or two of the following


1. The Delaware Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)
3. The Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDDS)
4. Private Pay
5. Other sources based on the need of the individuals

Our work programs aim to give you the skills, supports and opportunities you need for on job site independence. Your program will include evaluation/assessment, service planning, work program experience, case management services, and career exploration.

1. The Intake Interview
2. The review of any evaluations or assessments conducted
3. The development of the Individual Service Plan (ISP)
4. The 30-Day Meeting to review placement
