About Abundant Life

The Abundant Life Community Development Corporation, Inc. (ALCDC) is a Delaware nonprofit organization aimed at developing and empowering the Delaware Community and surrounding areas by providing social services, promoting educational advancement, fostering spiritual growth, and developing leadership qualities.

The corporation was started as the community outreach arm of The Redeemed Christian Church of God Abundant Life Center, Newcastle, Delaware.

In June 2015, God blessed the Church with a 40,000 square-foot property on 8 acres of land in central Newcastle, Delaware. This was an answer to prayers as it immediately provided an opportunity to begin a Vocational Day Center in the community, under ALCDC

ALCDC was borne out of the belief that “Serving man is serving God”. As we volunteer in the service of the Delaware community, we believe that we are serving God as well. We believe that the world will be a better place if everyone extends a helping hand to another.

         Current activities of ALCDC include:

    1. Community Food Harvest, a weekly food drive during which free food is distributed to members of the community.
The program is publicized by placing flyers at strategic locations such as the Department of Social Services, apartment complexes, trailer parks, and neighborhood homes. We source food through direct purchase from stores like Acme, Shoprite, Pathmark and BJs. We also source non-perishable food from church members, colleagues, family, and friends.

    2. Community Employment Support: providing resume-writing help and job search to residents of the Delaware community. People from the community are assisted in preparing job resumes and in performing online job searches.

    3. Solomon’s Closet/Esther’s Wardrobe.

This is a clothing drive, where individuals are encouraged to donate new, unused clothes, as well as lightly-used clothes to our Solomon’s Closet/ Esther’s
Wardrobe for donation to the needy and ex-prisoners.

        1. Collaboration: Various collaborative efforts with other not-for-profit organizations like the Salvation Army shelter and the Friendship House for the
        homeless in Wilmington Delaware.

        2. Distribution Center of Care packages for released prisoners in collaboration with the Prison Fellowship Ministry.
